Joie de Diva
January 26th @ 2:30 PM
We are pleased to announce that Jeudi Cornejo Brealey, the “Vintage-Voiced Chanteuse” and creator of the wildly popular Jazz-Age juke box musical “Love Outshines the Moon” is once again taking up residence at Jeweled Universe, this time with a monthly series exploring different musical themes that are dear to her heart.
And Oh là là!, her first concert “Joie de Diva” is a musical journey devoted to her lifelong fascination with la belle France and peppered with stories of the delights of living abroad as well as facing challenges and heart break, before finally getting married in Paris. As always, Jeudi’s musical selections highlight lesser known songs from the Art Deco era, as well as other delights of the last century and feature a surprise or two - - this time in both French and English! Her musical collaboration with Michael Marlen-Starr continues. Music direction by Charlie Harrison.
The first residency date is: Sunday, January 26 - Matinee at 2:30 PM.
Those who purchase early tickets will have an opportunity to pre-order a French bistro box of charcuterie delights to enjoy during the performance. Advanced Tickets Essential!
** Presale for Bistro Boxes will begin on Monday January 6 and continue through Friday, January 24 at 6 PM
As always, vintage or festive attire is encouraged!
“Love Outshines the Moon” premiered and was developed over a generous 14-month sold-out residency at the Jeweled Universe. To learn more about it’s future, buy merch and become a patron, visit jeudi.biz/about-the-play and join the mailing list.
Quotes
“There’s a smile in the lady’s voice and her contented perspective seems to be inuenced by the wearing of rose-colored glasses”. Rob Lester, Talkin’ Broadway
“Jeudi likes to dig deep for vocal gems of the ‘30s to ‘50s. She can inhabit several decades. Jeudi is not your typical singer of standards or the American Songbook, she is a vintage singer”. Joe Bebco, Syncopated Times
“Jeudi is heart-warming performer who will cast you in her spell. Her soothing lyrical voice has wit and charm. With her beaming smile, Jeudi brings joy to her audience”. Peisha McPhee, Vocal Coach, American Idol
“The vintage-voiced chanteuse shines bright”. John Sanders, Pasadena Weekly
